The reality is that Distinct AI is a business, and a business needs a viable business model. That model is shaped by its goals and mission. Distinct AI is no different.
Our vision is to design and build products and services that provide credit-free, private, and local AI for creatives. How we achieve this is where leadership and I come in.
As Head of Product & Experience, I work with leadership to understand how our company brings value. It is often vague, with many moving pieces.
My role as a strategic “glue” is to make sense of these fragments and translate them into actionable tasks.
Step-by-step, we execute, pivot, and iterate product strategies, product roadmaps, rinse, and repeat.
Our Vision

The problem today is that cloud-based AI often requires costly credits, lacks privacy, and uses user data for model training.
Our vision is to deliver end-to-end creative tools that are credit-free, private, and run locally.
Transitioning Distinct AI through 3 development eras

The "Legacy" Era was characterized by a rigid, inherited codebase and a lack of consistent internal processes. It was defined by the absence of modern tools such as Cursor, Jira, Confluence, design systems, and CI/CD pipelines.
The "Next" Era is the foundation-building phase. It focuses on modernizing the codebase, establishing a comprehensive design system, and implementing minimal project management tools. During this phase, the entire Distinct AI portfolio is being rebuilt and rebranded as a set of modular, independent, and flexible "building blocks".
The "Redux" Era focuses on scaling and adaptation. We leverage the modular building blocks created during the Next Era so we can pivot quickly to meet market, users, and investors needs. This modernized, integrated tech stack allows for rapid development with minimal technical and design debt.
" Each era is a step-function unlock for frontend & backend enhancements. "
Product Strategy

The Product Strategy centers on building end-to-end products that run locally, removing the need for subscriptions or cloud-based risks. The current portfolio includes specialized tools such as:
-
Vision FX (image-to-image)
-
Vector FX (scalable vector output)
-
Render FX (text-to-image)
-
HDR FX (high dynamic range creation)
-
Model Hub (AI model discovery, management)
-
Distinct Home (inspiration and tool discovery)
-
API (3rd party integration)
Each is designed to address specific market gaps and solve identified workflow problems for clients and partners.
Product Roadmap

Our product roadmap acts as a bridge, turning abstract ideas from leadership, investors, partners, and clients into actionable outputs such as prototypes, PRDs, and Jira tickets (epics, user stories, tasks). It aligns stakeholders by reinforcing the vision for leadership, communicating opportunities to investors, and defining execution for the team.
The roadmap is intentionally fast-evolving and adaptive, allowing the company to pivot quickly while maintaining its core vision.

Domain Expertise

Every team member and investor has their own domain; this implies knowledge gaps. There's no substitute for clear verbal, written, and/or visual communication to fill gaps and build trust.
Above: I've created sample components to explain a design system's role in reusable/scale design/code.
I Wear Many Hats
Head of Product & Experience is "The Glue"
Distinct AI's CEO describes me as "the glue" who translates leadership's abstract ideas, notes, and convictions into visualizations and actionable directives.
I work across everything from market observation and industry participation to UI/UX design, writing user stories in Jira, building Figma components, setting up Confluence, testing builds, developing investor decks, and supporting branding initiatives.
About: My role as a practitioner of design, business, product management, and AI.
